St Albans City Preview
23 Feb 2009
Basingstoke travel to Clarence Park to face St Albans City on Tuesday evening. The Saints are currently sitting at 14th place in the Conference South, five points above ‘Stoke.

Town should welcome Miles Mitchell-Coop back into the defence in place of Mark Vockins, who was drafted into the first team squad against Dorchester on Saturday to cover for the injured full-back. Sam Tucknott looks set to take a place on the subs bench again as he continues his return from a lengthy ankle injury, while Allan Tait is doubtful after picking up a knock on Saturday. Jason Bristow is still missing with his long term knee injury, whilst Sean Hankin and Adam Aimable are touch-and-go after missing the Dorchester game. Basingstoke may revert to a 3-5-2 formation, after playing the past few matches at 3-4-3.

St. Albans have won five of their last thirteen home games, but have not won a match in the league since November, a run of twelve games without victory. They went down by two goals to one away at Hayes & Yeading on Saturday. Basingstoke are currently enjoying their best form of the season, losing only two of the past thirteen outings.

Paul Hakim is the Saints danger man, scoring thirteen goals in thirty starts this season. However, he has only scored three goals since mid-November. Also, veteran goalkeeper Paul Bastock has been ever present in the league for St. Albans this season.

Kick-off at Clarence Park is at 7.45.
