Stoke continued their brilliant start to the season with a great 4-0 thrashing of Welling Utd who have been struggling lately and it showed at the back as Levis grabbed another hatrick and David Ray got the other.
1st Half
First half was fairly even as Stoke started the better and had a few chances early and a penalty claim for handball as Town piled on the pressure on the shaky Welling defence but Welling made a substitution and came back into the match and forced a fine save out of Tarr but Town finished the half the stronger and scored on the stroke of half time as Torres got down the right and crossed to fellow Argentinean Levis who swept the ball past the keepers left from a first time finish.
2nd Half
Town took the game to Welling in the 2nd period and killed the game off within 7 minutes of the restart as Levis went bursting into the box and was brought down, this time the referee decided it was a certain penalty and pointed to the spot, Levis stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way down to his left. Town were on top now and it was only a matter of time before the 3rd came which was scored on 71 minutes from a Stamp corner which was flicked on by Parrington which found Ray and he powered his header home. Levis almost grabbed his hatrick as he found room in the midfield to let fly and his shot beat the keeper but not the post the ball clipped the other upright and went out for a goal, an excellent effort and very unlucky. He got his hatrick five minutes from time as he got past the last man and rounded the keeper and slotted home to secure the best result of the season in a 4-0 drubbing of Welling Utd.
Summary
Town again showed the battling qualities to secure another win at home and the best possible result to go into the Hornchurch game with, if we continue playing like this then maybe a chance of play off's may be a possibility.
