Town bounced straight back to winning ways with a 3-1 win at Bishops's Stortford thanks to a brace from Whiddett and a single for Nathan Stamp
1st Half
The game started disastrously for Stoke as they were down within 8 minutes as Stortford made us pay for some poor defending down the left as Smith was caught out of position and Stortford noticed this and made stoke pay, playing their right midfielder in and he strike past the advancing Tarr beat the keeper.
The same play happened down the right but luckily the strike his the post with Tarr well beaten.
After the scare town came back into the match some good attacking play and got rewards of 28 minutes after Levis beat him man got to the byline and play a good ball across the box leaving Whiddett with a simple tap-in.
Stoke were unlucky not to go in at the break leading after some fortunate defending by Stortford.
2nd Half
Town set their sights out for a victory in the 2nd half as Stortford seemed to have lost all shape in midfield and defence.
Roach was working hard and running at their scared defenders and soon Roach had a snap shot early on which made the keeper make a save, but wasn't a real tester for the keeper.
Town were infront after some slick passing down the left ended in Tanfield firing in a cross which evaded Roach but was fired home under the keepers legs by Nathan Stamp.
Stortford came back into the match looking for an equalizer with around 25 minutes left but i cannot recall a worthwhile effort on goal while trailing 2-1.
Whiddett wrapped the game up with around 10 minutes to go as Westall with more less him first touch produced a pin point cross onto Whiddett's head and the header found the far corner of goal, 3-1 game over.
Stortford did have a chance to make it 3-2 but Tarr again was on hand to make a reflax save down to his right from a close range shot.
Torres almost wrapped up a perfect day and 3 points with a give and go with Roach but the keeper made a excellent save to deny Torres.
Summary
Stoke made the most of their chances to secure victory and Stortford didn't look like a team that was going to trouble us all game long like Weston did, and Stoke knew this and Roach and Torres set about attacking their defence while Whiddett did his bit up front unsettling their defender with his physical approach.
