Town made a superb start to their Nationwide Conference South Campaign with a 3-0 over Redbridge with a superb 2nd half performance that saw Cristian Levis grab his 1st hatrick for the club and more that double his total goals for the club in the process.
1st Half
The only notable chance was when Levis got in behind the defence after a clearance by Tarr but levis lob fell into the arms of the Redbridge Keeper.
2nd Half
Stoke came out in the 2nd half with their sight set for all 3 points and within seconds the ball was played up field and found the head of Bristow to knocked it into Levis's path and he acrobatically produced an overhead kick into the bottom right hand corner to make it 1-0.
Minutes later stoke and Levis doubled their lead after Whiddett was shoved in the back in the penalty area and the referee agreed with the claims for the penalty, Levis fired down the middle of goal to make it 2-0.
Levis completed the perfect start to the season on 71 minutes as he picked the ball up down the left, cut inside and with no challange got into shooting distance launched an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner.
Stoke were very unfortunate not to add to their score line with Nathan Stamp producing a splendid stop from their keeper while David Ray and the hardworking Whiddett upfront both fired just over the bar, but Torres should have made it 4 just before full time as McClurg made his way into the box and found some room for a shot but chose to play it to Torres who didn't get the right connection and it bobbled into the keepers arms..
Summary
If Town can keep up the good attacking play and defend well then we can survive easily but this is only 1 game gone - we will get a better view 10 games in.
