Former Nigerian Under 23 international Uwa Ogbodo joined Basingstoke late into the 2004/05 season having previously played his football in Nigeria, Malta and Ireland.
After a slow start, Uwa made his arrival known with a stoppage time goal away at Dorchester to keep the clubs play-off hopes alive. He scored again on the final day of the season- a long run and 25 yard strike into the top corner.
Uwa struggled to recreate the same form consistantly in the following season and found himself in and out of the team. He managed one more goal in the Hampshire Cup, a bending strike from a tight angle, before being released in November 2005. |
